LoginI am lucky enough to live near the Little Red River in Arkansas. This cabled pullover is named for the rock where I sit, basking in the delightful splashing and gurgling and dancing of the river. The cables mimic the ripples and swirls and waves on the water. I breathe in the sights and sounds, and I am renewed. Every time.
Knitted in pieces from the bottom up, this pullover looks like it has a complex variety of cables. Despite the look, each cable is fairly straightforward, with only one cable requiring more than a 6-row repeat. A shoulder saddle allows cable motifs to run from cuff to neckline, while the set-in sleeve construction reduces bulk for a tailored fit.

YARN Knit Picks High Desert Worsted (100% American wool; 217 yd [198 m]/3½ oz [100 g]; worsted weight): #N5415 Redtail, 7 (8, 8, 9, 10) (11, 11, 12) skeins.
NEEDLES Size 7 (4.5 mm). Size 6 (4 mm): 16" (40 cm) circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Markers (m); cable needle (cn); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
GAUGE 19 sts and 31 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st on larger needles. 28 patt sts (Braid patt over 6 sts, Swirl A patt over 12 sts, and Ripple A patt over 10 sts) = 4⅛" (10.5 cm) on larger needles.
FINISHED SIZE 34 (38¼, 42½, 46, 50¼) (54½, 58¾, 63¾)" (86.5 [97, 108, 117, 127.5] [138.5, 149, 162] cm) chest circumference. Pullover shown measures 38¼" (97 cm); modeled with 4¼" (11 cm) of ease.
