The traditional woolen-spun Shetland yarn used in this tam blends several colors that have been dyed in the wool for richness and depth.

MATERIALS
Yarn Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift (100% Shetland wool; 115 yd [105 m]/25 g; fingering weight), 1190 burnt umber (brown, Color 1), 120 eesit/white (white, Color 2), 102 shaela (dark gray, Color 3), 259 leprechaun (green, Color 4), 1010 seabright (blue, color 5), and 575 lipstick (pink, Color 6), 1 ball each. Distributed in the United States and Canada by Simply Shetland.
Needle Sizes 2 (2.75 mm) and 1 (2.25 mm), 16" (40 cm) circular. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Stitch markers (m); tapestry needle; smooth washable scrap yarn; elastic thread (optional).
Gauge 29 sts and 35 rows = 4" (10 cm) with larger needle in Fair Isle pattern.
Finished Size 22½" (57 cm) brim circumference and 7¾" (19.5 cm) long.
