This comfortable shell is worked in the round from bottom up in allover fancy slip-tuck pattern. A small slip-stitch lace pattern is placed at the side “seams” as an embellishing accent. The gentle A-line shaping is achieved by changing the needle size to maintain the stitch pattern. Each edge is trimmed with a different stitch pattern using purl stitches, and the sleeve cap is shaped with short rows.

MATERIALS
Yarn Ancient Arts Yarns Herlig DK (50% Viking Norway wool, 50% Merino wool; 273 yd [250 m]/100 g; DK weight); Baby Aubergine; 3 (3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins.
Needles Sizes 7 (4.5 mm), 6 (4 mm), and 5 (3.75 mm): 32" circular (cir). Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16" cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Notions Markers (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge 18 sts and 27 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in Slip-Tuck Lace pattern and size 7 (4.5 mm) needle; 19 sts and 28 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in Slip-Tuck Lace pattern and size 6 (4 mm) needle; 20 sts and 29 rnds = 4" (10 cm) in Slip-Tuck Lace pattern and size 5 (3.75 mm) needle.
Finished Size 36 (37½, 41½, 43¼, 48¾, 52¾, 54½, 60, 65½)" (91.5 [95.5, 105.5, 109.5, 124, 134, 138, 152.5, 166.5] cm) circumference at bust. Shown in size 37½" (95.5 cm), modeled with 1¾" (4.5 cm) ease.

• Place non-removable markers to identify side “seams.” The beg of round is 5 sts to the right of side marker forconvenience of working through chart A.
