LoginEvery tool deserves a home. What better way to corral your fiber gadgets than in a handknitted basket? This project recipe adapts easily to your yarn and storage needs. Handspinner Sabine designed these baskets to hold the little things that help her understand a breed of sheep: some locks, small skeins, swatches, a piece of felt, and pictures of the animals in their environment.
YARN Handspun (100% Coburg Fox wool; 660 yd [604 m]/16 oz [454 g]; worsted weight): natural, 90 yd (82 m).
NEEDLES Size 2½ (3 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
NOTIONS Tapestry needle.
GAUGE 20 sts and 28 rows = 4" (10 cm) in St st.
FINISHED SIZE 3¼" (8.5 cm) long . 5" (12.5 cm) wide . 4¼" (11 cm) tall.
