A goal of Farm & Fiber Knits is to provide knitters with patterns that are fun to knit and comfortable to wear. We love layering pieces that can span seasons and climates; things you can throw on if the weather takes a turn; unfussy pieces that can be both pretty and practical, rustic, and romantic. We’re also into outright rugged looks, inspired by classic workwear. While we’re not driven by the whims of the fashion world, we do want to look our best, even down on the farm—and we do like to see up-to-date shapes, sizing, and color ideas.

What are we looking for? Things that are destined to become your favorite knits. Everyone needs at least a couple of good cardigans and scarves of all shapes and sizes. Versatile vests are a must. The throw-it-over-anything shawl. Mittens and socks with a twist. If it’s a simple design, what makes it interesting? If it’s a tricky design, what makes people want to knit it?

Think about:
Motifs inspired by nature.
Neutrals with pops of color.
Yarns whose origins can be traced.
