The subtle shading of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend adds dimension to the entrelac pattern of the Bluebell Flames Shawl without overwhelming the small lace pattern. Photo by Harper Point Photography
Entrelac often gets its visual interest from color-changing yarns, but this shawl uses a single subly shading colorway of Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend to set off a lacy patchwork design. The flame motif changes directions on each row, dancing back and forth, and small applied flame triangles on each end.
MATERIALS AND PATTERN
Yarn Manos del Uruguay Silk Blend (70% Merino, 30% silk; 150 yd [137 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): #3043 juniper, 6 skeins. Yarn distributed by Fairmount Fibers.
Needles Size 6 (4 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge. Notions Tapestry needle.
Gauge 24 sts and 32 rows = 4" in St st.
Finished Size 14" wide and 63" long, excluding edging.
