Who Are We?
Farm & Fiber Knits is a new project from a team wholly focused on fiber arts. As the publishers of Spin Off, PieceWork, Handwoven, and Little Looms, Long Thread Media has built our name on creating magazines, videos, newsletters, and other offerings that help fiber artists improve their skills and understanding.
We’re launching Farm & Fiber Knits to support knitters who are choosing yarns thoughtfully. Who are curious about fibers and farms and people. Who are passionate about natural fiber. And from the field to the sweater, we are on the journey with you. We’ve always been the home for stories and techniques of how yarn is made and how people practice needlework, but we’re creating a space just for following yarns to the source and appreciating the connections that knitting creates.
Our team are editors and writers and designers and even a shepherd, but at the end of the day, we always come back to knitting. One day I asked our cofounder Linda Ligon how her knitting was going, and she said with a little shrug, “It’s just what we do.”
