The leaves are beginning to change colors, the crisp morning air has me reaching for something warm, and Kristen TenDyke’s Sheep Station Cardigan is the perfect layering piece for the job. Knit in Brown Sheep Company’s Prairie Spun DK, this cardigan is cozy, chic, and wearable for any occasion.

While some of my handknit sweaters need to be worn with shirts that have exactly the right neckline, the Sheep Station Cardigan can be paired with just about anything and still look great! This raglan cardigan has a deep V-neck that pairs effortlessly with a wide range of outfits.

The Sheep Station Cardigan is worked from the bottom-up. The sleeves and hem start with just a touch of lace. With only two repeats to knit, this is a perfect opportunity to practice your lace skills! Then the rest of the cardigan is knit in a broken rib that is rhythmic and soothing to knit. The broken rib and lace combined give the finished garment cozy and luxurious textures that effortlessly straddle the line between everyday and dressy casual wear.

Lovely lace details accent the cuffs and hem.

Classic Yarn for a Timeless Cardigan

Knit in Brown Sheep Company’s Prairie Spun DK, the Sheep Station Cardigan is soft to the touch but durable enough to wear season after season. The yarn’s tight plies help make the texture pop, and have the added benefit of reduced pilling. Brown Sheep Company proudly spins its yarns in the U.S., and purchases most of its wool from Colorado and Wyoming wool growers.

However you choose to wear it, the Sheep Station Cardigan will keep you warm and stylish season after season.
