Our goal at Farm & Fiber Knits is to provide knitters with the stories behind the yarns they use and patterns that celebrate those yarns. We want the designs we offer to be accessible to a range of skill levels, and we like every pattern to be interesting and fun to knit.
The Spring Collection
For the next round of submissions, we’re looking for trans-seasonal designs—those go-to pieces that you grab day after day, no matter where you live. While we love to envision them being worn around the farm, the key words are comfort and versability. If something you design is basic, we’d like to know what makes it different from similar patterns that already exist. Is it the stitch, the choice of yarns, construction details, shape, or the choice of yarn? Add a surprise!
Some yarn-y things we are loving:
Interesting all-over stitch patterns. Flowers and nature motifs. Mohair yarns. Plant fibers such as linen and cotton, and interesting blends. See our Pinterest board for some inspiring images.
Yarns to use:
Natural fibers and yarns with a sense of place. Feel free to suggest a yarn. (Yarn support is provided.)
Color inspo:
William Morris wallpaper; muted colors with the occasional pop of bright.
A few of the pieces we’d like to include:
A flowy shawl. A sleeveless top. A poncho. Some pretty socks. An oversize turtleneck. A year-round cowl.
